A concerted effort by all club members regarding fund raising for our new 10 seater boat. Our first involvement with the Sussex Inlet Community Markets was an outstanding success. Frank, John H and Rob helped set up the marquee and deliver stock, etc. A relay of members attended the stall, including Glenys, Lynn, Lesley, Susan and John Houchin. Joan and Jacqui positioned themselves outside our Newsagency and sold several books of raffle tickets. A huge thank you to the Community Markets for the fabulous site, and to Steve and the other members who donated goods for sale. We were ready to put up the “sold out” sign at 12 noon.
We extend our gratitude to the sixteen River Dragons who arose at 4.30am on Sunday 11th December. It takes a very special person to “donate’ their Sunday by volunteering their services as water station attendants, crowd controllers, etc. at the Callala Triathlon. But that was exactly what Lesley H, Tony, Frank, Susan, Vince, Barbara, Karen, Beth, Dawn, Colin, Mal, Robyn Jacqui, Brenton, Lynn and Rob did. Four carloads of River Dragons arrived at Callala Beach at 6.30am and worked throughout the morning, assisting with the running of the Triathlon until 1pm.
