Lake Conjola weekend 22nd to 23rd November

The highlight pf the club  was the “bonding” weekend at Lake Conjola. The more enthusiastic arrived on Friday 21st November, with their camping equipment of greatly varying degrees of comfort, not forgetting the 10-seater “Dragonfly” on its trailer.  Saturday morning saw the campers joined by the fair-weather day-trippers arriving in time for a delicious bacon & egg roll, cakes and coffee – yet again confirming the healthy life-style of dragon boat paddlers.  Over 20 people, including a few social members enjoyed a great day at the water’s edge.  Morning activities included kayaking as well as a trip up the lake in “Dragonfly” before a picnic lunch, followed by siesta, conversation, and general socialising, as the wind had become a bit brisk.  In the evening, the wind settled down to a breeze and the remaining paddlers took the boat out for a twilight to dark paddle to test the navigation lights. All in all, a very successful and pleasant occasion.
