The River Dragon crew of nineteen were at Nowra at 7.15am on Saturday. With over 25 teams attending Race 4 the northern bank of the Shoalhaven was alive with activity. Racing commenced at 8.30am, with the River Dragons competing in two categories, Grand Masters Mixed and Masters Mixed in four races through the morning. For most of our paddlers this was their first taste of real competition. Given that we were racing against teams up to 15 and 25 years younger than us, our fourth placing and fifth placing in the races were credible results. Congratulations to both Barb and John for their efforts at Nowra. To our seventeen paddlers, you were superb! A great result for us, well done. Special thanks to Graham Baldwin, a non-paddling River Dragon, who acted as “bag man” and team photographer on the day.
