Christmas Paddle / Social Night 2013

On Saturday evening we celebrated our third Annual Christmas party, with paddlers and friends gathering at Brenton and Jacqui Whitwell’s property to let our hair down and enjoy each other’s company. We were delighted to welcome back to Sussex Inlet Karen and Steve Roberts. Karen and Steve have relocated to Canberra but make the journey over to Sussex Inlet for several of our club functions.

Instead of the usual barbeque we decided finger food would be the cuisine on the night and to say we were well fed would indeed be an understatement. We are indebted to Brenton and Jacqui for once again supplying a great venue. The night concluded with an exchange of Christmas gifts and a very happy group going home to “sleep off” the meal.

Our Third Annual Christmas Paddle commenced at 3pm on Christmas Eve. Our crew, augmented by Sue Thompson visiting from Lawson and Karen Roberts our ACT member, paddled up the Inlet, under Badgee Bridge and into each arm of the Keys, handing out treats to any children we met along the way. During this marathon 135 minute paddle we managed to distribute several kilograms of goodies. A big thank you to the crew for another successful community paddle.
